Water management

Every drop counts. Minimizing the water footprint in our data centers.

Water management

Water is a key resource in data center operations, especially in cooling infrastructure. At our data centers, we manage water usage with the utmost care to ensure operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.

Our goal

Monitoring of water consumption and maintaining a low water usage indicator in our operations. We pay particular attention to the use of a closed-loop system for cooling.

Our projects

The Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) metric measures how efficiently water is used in data centers. It helps monitor and optimize consumption, which is crucial for sustainable operations. A lower WUE value indicates more efficient water use, leading to reduced operational costs and improved cooling system performance.

In 2025, the WUE for Data Center 2 was 0.18 l/kWh.

By optimizing water usage, we help protect global water resources and minimize the environmental impact of our operations.

Water cooling systems are more energy efficient than traditional air cooling methods. They enable reduced energy consumption and CO₂ emissions, but require effective water resource management.

At Beyond.pl, we prioritize modern, energy-efficient solutions. We have implemented a water-based cooling system that complements traditional cooling methods. This system is primarily used during winter months—intelligently leveraging natural conditions, specifically low external temperatures—to cool IT equipment in our server rooms using a glycol-water mix.
